This month Finch & Daisy is pausing to remember and pay tribute to two members of our family that left us far too soon - Sonya, our team member who passed away earlier this year, and Henry, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge this month. Both are missed every day but we know they will be with us forever in spirit.
Sonya White Memorial Bench Dedication
At the end of June, Finch & Daisy was honored to donate and dedicate a park bench to the City of Farmington to memorialize our late colleague, Sonya White. Sonya’s family, including husband Cody, her son Hunter, and Hunter’s fiancé Bryanna, came from Alabama and joined members of Sonya's F&D family at a private dedication ceremony at Daisy Knoll Park in Farmington, MN. The F&D team shared personal memories and stories of how Sonya touched their lives - tears were shed and laughter was abundant. The park bench will stand as a longtime monument to Sonya’s dedication to her job, and Finch & Daisy’s commitment to ensure she remains forever part of our family.
Honoring Henry
Since the inception of F&D, Joy has often joked that her dog, Henry, was the first employee and unofficial Chief Operating Officer of F&D. Unfortunately, a few weeks ago Henry crossed the Rainbow Bridge due to some unexpected medical issues. As hard as it was to say goodbye to a member of her family, Joy was incredibly thankful for the veterinarians and staff at the Animal Emergency & Referral Center in Oakdale, MN for providing end-of-life-care for Henry. Henry will forever be missed by Joy’s family, including Henry’s pack-mates, Maude and Archie, but they know he is watching over them every day.
Get to Know F&D
This month we sat down with Lena Larson, Administrative Assistant, get to know a little bit more about her:
How Long Have You Been With F&D: Just about a year
Favorite Movie: Not really a movie watcher, but I went to Grease three times in the theater, so that was probably my first favorite movie. I’d rather watch sports or a sitcom if given the choice.
Favorite Book: “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill or my favorite fiction book is “Perfect” by Judith McNaught
Favorite Band: Anything 80s Hair Metal
If you could have any job in the world, what would you do? I wouldn’t pick a job; I’d want to own apartment buildings…or anything with passive income because the work / life balance is so much better.
Where is the most breathtaking place you’ve ever traveled? Maui, Hawaii
Fun Fact About You: I ran the Twin Cities (MN) Marathon in 2015.
Pictured are Lena, her husband Todd, daughters Miranda and Brooke, and their boyfriends Marcus and Matt on a trip to Maui last year. Thank you, Lena, for giving us a glimpse into your personal life. Look for another Get to Know F&D employee next month!
